The Greater Knoxville area has a climate with four distinct seasons. The terrain consists of beautiful mountains to rolling pastures. The area also has a number of lakes, rivers, and streams.

For the sports enthusiast the Knoxville area is home to some of the best college sports in the Southeast and the home to the Women’s Basketball Hall of Fame. The Smokies Minor League Baseball team calls the area home as do the Knoxville Ice Bears Hockey team. For those who enjoy the great outdoors the area is abundant with hiking trails, white water rafting, water sports, snow skiing, camping, fishing, and hunting.

Knoxville is rich in historical and cultural sites which are unique to this Appalachian region, including the Knoxville Museum of Art, James White's Fort, Blount Mansion, Haley Heritage Square, Beck Cultural Center and the Ijams Nature Center.
